BEIJING, May 24 – Nepal has been awarded the “Most Charming Tourism Destination” recognition at the Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) 2026, underscoring its growing appeal among international travelers.

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) coordinated the country’s participation at the three-day event, held May 21–23 under the theme “Nepal: A Lifetime Experience.” The board promoted Nepal’s diverse offerings, including wellness, cultural, pilgrimage, adventure, outdoor, and luxury tourism.

Guangzhou, a major commercial and tourism hub near Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, provided a strategic platform for Nepal to showcase its tourism potential.

On the opening day, NTB organized a traditional Nepali cultural dance performance and destination presentation, highlighting the country’s heritage to Chinese visitors and travel trade professionals.

Senior Manager Bimal Kadel delivered a presentation on Nepal’s tourism marketing strategies on May 22, while NTB officials engaged in panel discussions.

Eight Nepali travel and tourism companies also participated, offering trekking, travel, and hospitality packages. Attractions at the Nepal stall included a spin-and-win lucky draw and demonstrations of Nepali singing bowls.
