Source: WHO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lenticular clouds are stationary\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cloud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clouds<\/a>\u00a0that form mostly in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Troposphere\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">troposphere<\/a>.  They are often comparable in appearance to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lens_(optics)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lens<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saucer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">saucer<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Polar_stratospheric_cloud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nacreous clouds<\/a>\u00a0that form in the lower stratosphere sometimes have lenticular shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Altocumulus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Altocumulus<\/a>\u00a0standing lenticular (ACSL), stratocumulus standing lenticular (SCSL), and cirrocumulus standing lenticular (CCSL),  are three main types of lenticular clouds. Because of their unique appearance, they have been suggested as an explanation for some unidentified flying object (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/UFO\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UFO<\/a>) sightings.<\/p>\n  <br \/>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lenticular clouds are stationary clouds that form mostly in the troposphere.
