Kathmandu, Nepal \u2014<\/strong> In response to growing demand from Nepali consumers, Puja International, the sole authorized distributor of the German automotive brand Volkswagen in Nepal, has officially launched the Volkswagen Virtus sedan and the new Taigun SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unveiling took place at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, which kicked off yesterday in Kathmandu. The launch ceremony was graced by His Excellency Udo Volz, Ambassador of Germany to Nepal, who revealed both models to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both vehicles are equipped with a powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, making them the most robust in their segment. Built with cutting-edge German technology, the cars promise unmatched safety and performance, according to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This EV has a special key feature: fuel-efficient engines capable of producing 150 horsepower from a 1500 cc capacity; advanced cylinder deactivation technology for optimized power usage; and compliance with top-tier global safety standards, including a 5-star rating from Global NCAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volkswagen Taigun: Built for Nepal\u2019s Roads<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being a sedan, the Virtus boasts an impressive 180 mm ground clearance\u2014higher than many SUVs currently available in Nepal. This makes it well-suited for both urban and rural terrains, minimizing the risk of underbody damage on uneven roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has a strong chassis and a powerful engine and is well-suited for diverse road conditions across Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Taigun GT SUV, with 188 mm ground clearance and a modern 7-speed gearbox, is tailored for Nepal\u2019s challenging roadways. It comes loaded with safety and comfort features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Hold Control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global Commitment, Local Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, Shelji Joseph, Global Export Head of Volkswagen India, emphasized the brand\u2019s commitment to safety and affordability. \u201cBoth models have received a 5-star Global NCAP rating, ensuring protection for all passengers. Moreover, with spare parts now priced on par with India, maintenance costs for Nepali customers will be significantly reduced,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also hinted at future expansions: \u201cVolkswagen\u2019s global portfolio is strong, and we\u2019re evaluating the possibility of introducing more models to Nepal at the right time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
