KATHMANDU, Feb 8 <\/strong>\u2013 A delegation from the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry has arrived in Kathmandu for talks on the Joint Business Council (JBC) formed with Nepal\u2019s Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The council was established under an agreement signed in April 2024 during the visit of Qatar\u2019s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Nepal, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Qatari delegation, led by board member Mohd Ahmad M A Alobaidly, is visiting at the invitation of FNCCI President Chandra Prasad Dhakal. Meetings are scheduled for Feb. 9\u201310 in Kathmandu to finalize the council\u2019s operational framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FNCCI said the JBC will serve as a structured platform for dialogue and private sector engagement, with discussions expected to identify concrete areas of collaboration. The delegation will also meet Nepal\u2019s finance minister, industry minister, and central bank governor during its stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepal sees opportunities for Qatari investment in hydropower, renewable energy, tourism, agro-processing, IT, manufacturing, infrastructure, health and education.
