Diktel, Khotang, April 15<\/strong> \u2014 For the first time, Diktel will host a five-day science fair, showcasing innovations in science, technology, art, literature, and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized by Himalaya Secondary School, Solma Diktel, in collaboration with Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality and Shubham Foundation, the Scientific Exploration and Science-Mathematics Exhibition 20<\/em>26 will run from April 16 to 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will feature displays ranging from school-level projects to advanced technologies, including a Chinese-made AI-enabled electric vehicle. A major attraction will be \u201cBhunte,\u201d a robot modeled after the endangered red panda, designed to interact with visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competitions such as student exhibitions, robo-car races, debates, and quiz contests will be held. Institutions from Kathmandu Valley \u2014 including NAST, Kathmandu University, Nepal Astronomical Society, and several campuses \u2014 will present special exhibits. Workshops will allow students to search for minor planets using mobile or computer software, while biotechnology experts will present on organic fertilizers and innovations in biological technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free dental check-ups and health awareness programs will be offered by Youth Dentistry Nepal and Jagaran Dental Clinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Vedic mathematics workshop led by Prof. Dr. Jayanta Acharya of Balmiki Bidyapeeth will also be conducted. Additionally, students will learn about rockets and gliders through interactive sessions by the Squad of Change Makers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond science, the fair will highlight cultural heritage, traditional crafts, local agricultural products, bamboo and metal works, and modern livestock and aquaculture practices. Nepal\u2019s Space Foundation will display its \u201cSastoSat\u201d  Nano satellite, underscoring the country\u2019s role in satellite development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the first exhibition of its kind in Khotang,\u201d said coordinator Surya Rai. \u201cIt will help define the district\u2019s identity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Municipality Mayor Tirtha Raj Bhattarai emphasized that the event, supported by Koshi Province, aims to inspire children to understand how AI can be integrated into daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Principal Padam Rai of Himalaya Secondary School noted that despite limited resources and the region\u2019s remoteness, the fair was organized independently. \u201cThis is a model exhibition. In the future, students will also be included in the organizing team,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
