DHAKA<\/strong> \u2014 Bangladesh and Nepal jointly hosted an international seminar on photojournalism titled \u201cPhotographer on the Street\u201d<\/em> at the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) in Dhaka, focusing on coverage of street protests and mass movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event drew leading photojournalists, media professionals, and stakeholders from both countries. PIB Director General Faruk Wasif opened the seminar, highlighting the role of photojournalism in strengthening democratic practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bashir Jamal, Managing Director of the Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust, delivered the keynote, stressing the heightened responsibility of photojournalists in portraying truth during times of crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Panel discussions featured Kader Gani Chowdhury of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists, AKM Mohsin of the Bangladesh Photo Journalists Association, Pradeep Raj Bant of Nepal\u2019s National Forum of Photojournalists, BPJA General Secretary Babul Talukdar, and representatives from the National Press Club. Speakers debated risks faced during protest coverage, ethical considerations, press freedom, and safety challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants from both countries underscored the need for collaboration, exchange of experiences, and capacity building in photojournalism. Closing the seminar, PIB\u2019s Wasif thanked attendees and pledged continued cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
