Berlin–\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has identified 25 young researchers through the \u201cGreen Talents \u2013 International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development\u201d, to tour Germany.\u00a0Paribesh Pradhan<\/strong>, MSc student in Physical Geography from Nepal is among the finalists.\u00a0The Jury was impressed by the complementary way Paribesh is applying his specialist practical knowledge of the region to his scientific research.<\/em>\u00a0The competition, under the patronage of\u00a0Minister Professor Johanna Wanka,<\/em>\u00a0annually awards the 25 most outstanding minds worldwide. Hailing from various research disciplines, the winners are honoured for their original solutions for a more sustainable future.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the sixth time, the Green Talents Award will be presented by German research minister Prof. Johanna Wanka.\u00a0Out of more than 800 applications from over 100 countries, a high ranking jury of experts selected 25 up-and-coming scientists \u2013 among them the 32 year old Paribesh Pradhan. Their prize is one of the treasured tickets to the\u00a0\u201cGreen Talents – International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development\u201d<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Green<\/a>Two weeks of interaction with some of the most renowned research institutions and leading experts now lie ahead of the newly minted \u201cGreen Talents\u201d. Getting connected to the science community and exchanging ideas with its key innovators allows the winners to promote their approaches and to lay the foundation for future cooperation. Such efforts are supported by the invitation to return to Germany for a fully funded research stay at an institution of their choice in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Johanna Wanka, as the patron of the Green Talents Initiative, will personally\u00a0honour\u00a0the winners on\u00a07 November<\/span>\u00a0in Berlin<\/strong>. The festive awards ceremony will be one of the first events held in the new ministry building.<\/span><\/p>\n
