
Kathmandu—Lakshmi E-Mobility has officially introduced the first electric vehicle (EV) model from the Chinese brand Forthing to the Nepali market.
The premium SUV, named Friday EV, was unveiled at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu from August 6 to 10.
The Friday EV is equipped with a 64.4 kWh battery and a 99 kW motor, offering a driving range of over 400 kilometers on a single charge. The vehicle emphasizes smart design, advanced technology, and user-friendly features, aiming to meet the evolving needs of Nepali consumers.
Lakshmi Motor Corporation recently launched Nepal’s first four-wheeler assembly plant in Ramgram, Nawalparasi, marking a significant step in domestic automobile manufacturing.
Additionally, the company has expanded its EV infrastructure under the brand RE-Lax, with over 63 charging and repair stations nationwide.
Global Brands, Local Impact
Lakshmi Group, a longstanding leader in Nepal’s automobile sector since 1973, has previously brought global brands like Hyundai, BMW, KIA, and SML Isuzu to the country. With the addition of Forthing, the group deepens its commitment to clean mobility and technological innovation.
The Friday EV is available in two variants, priced at NPR 50.96 lakhs and NPR 50.696 lakhs, respectively. For a limited time, the company is offering an NPR 2 lakhs discount along with one year of free auto insurance and vehicle registration. With this offer, the Luxury variant is available at just NPR 48.96 lakhs, while the Exclusive comes in at NPR 54.96 lakhs.
