Kathmandu, August 26— Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) handed over astronomical equipment to Dr. Pushpraj Acharya, coordinator of NASO Karnali, on the occasion of its foundation day on 25th August.

The handover marks a significant step toward expanding astronomy education and outreach in Nepal’s Karnali Province.

According to NASO, the equipment will enhance the effectiveness of stargazing programs, astronomy education in schools, teacher training, and public science engagement activities in the region.

NASO President Suresh Bhattarai emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it will help broaden access to space science and astronomy in Karnali.

“Since its inception, NASO has been committed to sparking curiosity about space science, expanding scientific knowledge, inspiring students, and promoting scientific thinking among the general public,” Bhattarai said.

The handover reflects NASO’s ongoing efforts to decentralize science education and foster interest in astronomy across Nepal’s diverse regions.
