Prime Minister Unveils Nepal’s First Flying Car at NADA Auto Show 2025

Kathmandu— Nepal marked a historic leap in mobility today as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli officially unveiled the nation’s first flying car, the Deepal eVTOL, at the opening of the NADA Auto Show 2025.

The groundbreaking launch, held in collaboration with MAW Vriddhi Group, signals a bold step toward futuristic and sustainable transportation in the country.

The Deepal eVTOL—an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft—was revealed in the presence of MAW Vriddhi Group Chairman Vishnu Kumar Agarwal and Managing Director Vivek Sikaria.

“This marks a major milestone in bringing the future of mobility to Nepal,” said Agarwal. Sikaria added, “We are proud to showcase innovation that may redefine transportation in the country.”

New Era for NADA Auto Show

This year’s NADA Auto Show stands apart as a landmark edition, introducing not just new vehicles but a new dimension of mobility. As Nepal’s premier automotive exhibition, NADA has long been a platform for innovation, and the debut of the Deepal eVTOL elevates its global relevance.

The Deepal eVTOL is the result of a strategic partnership between Changan Automobile—one of China’s largest automakers—and EHang, a global pioneer in autonomous aerial vehicles.

Deepal, Changan’s new energy sub-brand, joins forces with EHang to develop and commercialize next-generation eVTOLs powered by autonomous flight technology.

Their shared mission: to democratize air mobility by making flying cars safe, eco-friendly, and accessible—not just a luxury. Changan has committed over USD 2.76 billion toward advanced air and sea mobility solutions by 2030.

Designed to take off and land vertically, the Deepal eVTOL blends cutting-edge aeronautical engineering with electric propulsion.

Its sleek design and smart technology aim to reduce urban congestion, noise pollution, and carbon emissions—ushering in a cleaner, quieter future for Nepal’s cities.

The unveiling places Nepal on the global map of nations embracing sustainable air mobility. For MAW Vriddhi Group, it’s a continuation of their legacy of introducing world-class automotive innovations and building trust among Nepali consumers.

As the curtains rise on NADA Auto Show 2025, the Deepal eVTOL doesn’t just launch—it soars as a symbol of progress, ambition, and Nepal’s readiness to embrace the skies.
