Bhaktapur — Siddhi Smriti Women and Children’s Hospital, based in Bhimsensthan, has announced that it is actively conducting a series of research studies focused on women’s and children’s health. The hospital shared its findings during a discussion program held Tuesday with teachers from various schools across the district.
Hospital officials emphasized that their work has centered on community-based studies aimed at improving health outcomes for women and children.
Dr. Ramkrishna Chandyo, pediatrician and head of the hospital’s Child Health Research Project, stated that the hospital has been carrying out continuous research in collaboration with the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. He noted that a recent study examined diseases affecting children between 6 to 11 months of age, while another project assessed the health status of 400 pregnant women.
Following these studies, the hospital organized a one-day workshop with local teachers who regularly interact with young children. The program provided a platform for in-depth discussions on child health and community engagement.
Social worker Shyamsundar Dhouhdel established Siddhi Smriti Hospital after losing his only son, Siddhi Sundar Dhouhdel, in a tragic road accident. In memory of his child, Dhouhdel founded both the hospital and an old-age home, institutions that now serve thousands of children and elderly citizens in the community.
