New York — At the 2025 Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, MetLife announced a major three-year partnership with Global Citizen, the world’s largest movement dedicated to ending extreme poverty.

The collaboration will harness MetLife’s global reach and expertise in economic security to support transformative initiatives in education and economic empowerment.

As a major partner, MetLife will contribute financial resources, employee volunteerism, and strategic support to advance Global Citizen’s mission.

In a significant philanthropic move, MetLife Foundation pledged $9 million as a founding donor to the newly launched FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The Fund aims to raise $100 million to expand access to quality education and sports for children worldwide. This builds on the Foundation’s nearly 50-year commitment to educational support, including financial literacy, STEM programs, mentoring, and skills training.

“At MetLife, we’re committed to building more confident futures,” said Michel Khalaf, MetLife President and CEO.

“This partnership will promote financial health, expand educational opportunities, and strengthen communities globally. It also continues MetLife Foundation’s legacy of over $1 billion in giving since 1976.”

MetLife will also support Global Citizen’s flagship campaigns, including the Global Citizen NOW summits and future festivals that unite artists, activists, and leaders to address pressing global challenges.

“This partnership is a powerful catalyst for change,” said Hugh Evans, Co-Founder and CEO of Global Citizen. “Together, we’ll accelerate progress toward a world where everyone can thrive.”
