Kathmandu — Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG in Nepal, unveiled the MG S6 electric vehicle on Monday during a special event.
The company stated that following the success of the MG S5 launched last year, this new model comes with more power, a larger size, and advanced technology. The price of the vehicle in the Nepali market has been set at NPR 6,999,000.
According to the company, bookings and sales will begin immediately after the official launch through MG’s 14 showrooms across Nepal. With its modern design and excellent range, the vehicle is claimed to be a reliable and attractive option for Nepali customers.
Technically, the car is equipped with a 180 kW motor and a 77 kWh battery pack, offering a full-charge range of up to 530 km. It has a ground clearance of 195 mm.
The rear-wheel drive produces 244 horsepower and 350 Nm torque, ensuring strong performance even on hilly roads, said Paramount Motors’ General Manager Sunil Kshetri. He added, “Since it supports 144 kW DC fast charging, the car can be quickly charged, making long journeys convenient.”
With a length of 4,708 mm and a wheelbase of 2,835 mm, this SUV is considered a competitor to the Tesla Model Y in the global market. Its ground clearance of about 190 mm suits Nepal’s roads. The vehicle is based on MG’s modular scalable platform, featuring angular headlamps and an attractive fascia inspired by MG’s popular Cyberster Roadster.
The exterior design is comfortable and luxurious. Inside, it comes with a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, and an 11-speaker audio system.
The company has also prioritized practicality and safety. It offers a large 674-liter boot space, expandable to 1,910 liters by folding the rear seats.
For safety, the car has received the prestigious 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Features such as a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and built-in YouTube streaming make it even more modern, according to the company.
