Kathmandu — Nepal’s leading digital payment service provider, FonePay, has welcomed CityPay Digital Wallet as the 10th wallet integrated into its ecosystem.
With this partnership, CityPay users can now make seamless and secure digital payments at over 1.7 million merchant outlets across Nepal using FonePay’s nationwide interoperable QR network.
Welcoming CityPay, FonePay CEO Dibesh Kumar stated, “Our goal is not just to connect wallets and banks, but to ensure that every individual and business experiences the true convenience and trust of digital payments.”
Similarly, CityPay CEO Binay Regmi described the partnership as more than just a technological collaboration—he called it a step toward empowering millions of remittance beneficiaries.
To mark the occasion, CityPay has also announced a special “Festive Campaign.” From September 2 to November 2, 2025, every transaction made via CityPay Wallet will enter users into a lucky draw. Two lucky winners each month will receive a Samsung television.
Additionally, for every QR transaction above NPR 500, CityPay will award 20 reward points, which can be redeemed for cash or goods.
Experts say the collaboration between PhonePe and CityPay will not only advance Nepal toward a cashless economy but also make digital transactions more secure, inclusive, and user-friendly.
