FundedByMe chosen as the Crowdfunding Firm of the Year 2015

Since 2010 FundedByMe has funded approximately 500 companies from 25 countries, built a network of more than 53 000 investors from 70 countries and has a local presence in countries around Europe and Singapore. Today the company received the Global Award of Crowdfunding Firm of the Year from “Finance Monthly” and was listed at 21st position of hottest startups by “Veckans Affärer”.

It all started by coincidence. We wanted to raise funds for one of our ideas via Kickstarter, but we were denied. That is why we founded FundedByMe. Sometimes the initial failure may lead you to the great success” – say Daniel Daboczy, CEO, and Arno Smith, CTO, the co-founders of FundedByMe.

In five years, FundedByMe has become a very serious player in the global crowdfunding industry. The company started with reward-based crowdfunding but soon started to help ventures raise money through selling their shares. Right now 83% of equity crowdfunding deals in Nordics go through the FundedByMe platform.  In the February 2015 FundedByMe launched loan-based crowdfunding (also known as debt crowdfunding). Offering three types of crowdfunding campaign types makes this company one of the unique platforms in the world. Furthermore, it is the only crowdfunding platform of Nordic origin that has branches in 6 countries on 2 continents. Users on FundedByMe come from 97 countries and the network is exponentially growing. So far the company has successfully funded some 500 companies from 25 countries.

“The dynamic growth of FundedByMe is a part of our long-term strategy. Of course the bigger company is, the more difficult it is to keep the same speed in the development. However, our priority is to give investors, lenders and backers on FundedByMe the widest possible choice in campaigns they may support and to give entrepreneurs, a very wide network of investors ready to boost their business  “ says Daniel Daboczy.

Till date, 100 million SEK has been raised on FundedByMe. Some of the most spectacular crowdfunding campaigns run on the platform were Noa beverages that raised 9,1 million SEK, Safello that got over 6 million SEK, Virtuous Vodka with 3 million SEK in total and also the FundedByMe company itself that collected 11 million SEK in two rounds.

Last week FundedByMe broke the record in crowdfunding for the fashion industry. Carin Wester raised the first 1 100 000 SEK in the first 7 hours. After 2 days investors committed 2 000 000 SEK to purchase shares. The campaign is still live and open for investments.
