CHITWAN, Nepal, June 29 – Authorities have rescued a female tiger from the Madi region of Chitwan after repeated incursions into human settlements, officials said on Monday.
The tiger, now under quarantine at the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC)’s Biodiversity Conservation Center in Chitwan, had been preying on livestock over the past six months, raising concerns for community safety.
A joint team comprising the Nepali Army, Chitwan National Park administration and NTNC technicians darted and secured the animal, according to officials.
With this latest intervention, NTNC-BCC has rescued three tigers in the current fiscal year, underscoring efforts to reduce human-wildlife conflict and promote coexistence.
