Nepal’s SPG Automobiles launches Jaecoo J6T electric all-roader with rugged design, extended range

KATHMANDU, March 24 – SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Omoda Jaecoo in Nepal, has launched the new Jaecoo J6T model at a ceremony in Kathmandu on Monday.

The J6T, described as a “best-in-segment electric all-roader,” features a boxy, rugged design inspired by the Land Rover Defender. The rear-wheel drive variant is priced at 6.899 million Nepali rupees, though an introductory offer sets the price at 6.699 million rupees.

Company officials, including Sharda Group Managing Director Sandeep Kumar Sharda and Director Gaurav Sharda, attended the unveiling alongside customers, media, influencers and industry guests. Gaurav Sharda said the new variant would appeal to Nepal’s EV enthusiasts, citing its design and suitability for challenging road conditions.

SPG Automobiles Vice President Rupesh Sharma Bhatt said the J6T is now available at all Omoda & Jaecoo showrooms nationwide. He noted the model offers higher ground clearance and extended driving range compared to earlier versions.

The new Jaecoo J6T comes equipped with a rear‑mounted motor that delivers 220 Newton‑meters of torque, powered by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) CATL battery. It offers a driving range of up to 431 kilometers and features a ground clearance of 225 millimeters, making it suitable for varied terrain.

In terms of dimensions, the J6T measures 4,433 millimeters in length, 1,916 millimeters in width, and 1,741 millimeters in height, with a wheelbase of 2,715 millimeters. The vehicle rides on 19‑inch tires and integrates modern technology such as a 15.6‑inch central touchscreen, a 9.2‑inch instrument panel, a 50‑watt wireless charger, and an eight‑speaker audio system.
